On May 27, the Cité de la Santé Foundation held a Recognition Cocktail to show its gratitude to loyal donors and volunteers who, over the years, have given selflessly of their time and effort to support the Foundation's mission. This tribute evening was made possible with the support of our partner Résidence Le Marronnier. For the occasion, Mr. Michael Maisonneuve, Director of Operations, announced a donation of $100,000 from Le Marronnier to support the Foundation's mission.
Louis Gaudreau , Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Directors, thanked each and every donor for their generosity and commitment in supporting the Foundation's actions and projects in fulfilling its mission. He also stressed the importance of continuing these efforts, recalling that Laval's population is growing rapidly, and that there are many needs in terms of social services and healthcare. A message to remember: the destination of donations can be multiple and suitable for everyone. All donations, large and small, are important and make a real difference,” he added. He warmly thanked everyone present. Several donor recognition events are planned for the coming years. To conclude the cocktail reception, the Foundation offered prizes to donors and volunteers in recognition of their remarkable gestures.
Jeanne-Evelyne Turgeon, CEO of CISSS de Laval, also thanked those present for their generosity, recalling its importance in enabling CISSS de Laval to continue offering quality care to those who need it most. She also recalled that, thanks to their unfailing support, the CISSS has been able to improve its infrastructures, invest in state-of-the-art equipment and, above all, offer a more human and welcoming environment for patients.
Etienne Lalonde, Assistant General Manager of the Foundation, invited a number of donors who have distinguished themselves through their support and efforts in support of the Foundation's mission to come forward and receive an award in recognition of their dedication. The involvement of several guests was recognized with a trophy presented by Samira Gouzi, Director of Philanthropic Development.
CISSS patient Marie-Eve Germain and her doctor, Dr. Montpetit, also gave an emotional and humane testimonial on the quality of care provided and its importance in the fight against the disease.

Youth Commitment Award:
Valérie Leclair, President of the Young Philanthropists Committee, received the Prix de la relève philanthropique. This award recognizes the involvement of a person under 40 in the philanthropic world.
Ongoing Commitment Tribute Award:
This award recognizes the qualities of an exceptional volunteer who supports the Foundation's mission. Lise Parent, a volunteer for eight years and retired CISSS employee, received this tribute award.
Inspiring Philanthropic Award:
The purpose of this award is to recognize a donor who has distinguished himself through his generosity to the Foundation. The award was presented to Edouard Schmitt. The award was accepted by Mrs. Denise Depelteau Schmitt, his spouse, as he was unable to attend for health reasons.
Ambassador Award:
This award recognizes the qualities of an exceptional individual whose commitment strongly reflects the image and mission of the Foundation. The award was presented to Dr. Laurence Descarries.
Builder's Circle Award: This prize was awarded to Mr. Pasquale d'Ambrosio. It recognizes a person close to the Foundation who wishes to leave a lasting imprint on the Foundation.
We are delighted to present the Prix Coup de cœur to donor Janet Rizkallah in recognition of her remarkable commitment to the Foundation's mission year after year. Above, Samira Gouzi, Director of Philanthropic Development, presents the trophy to Ms. Rizkallah.
Tribute Award:
This award was presented to Dr. Martine Montigny. It recognizes an exceptional contributor to the Foundation.
