Along with our new ambassadors, triple Olympic medalist speed skater Charles Hamelin and host / reporter Geneviève Tardif, the Cité de la Santé Foundation launched on November 26 its fundraising campaign called #ProfoundlyHuman. This initiative aims to raise public awareness of the growing needs on Laval territory and the importance of investing in health and social services. The campaign is based on a #ProfoundlyHuman Manifesto and invites citizens, businesses and associations to take part in this great movement of solidarity.

#ProfoundlyHuman Ambassadors

Charles Hamelin and Geneviève Tardif became parents last April at the Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital. This experience, positive and full of gentleness despite the current health crisis, motivated them to become involved as ambassadors for the Cité de la Santé Foundation. Geneviève, who was herself born in Laval under the good care of Dr. François Lacombe 32 years ago, was accompanied by the same doctor in April (more than 9,000 deliveries later)!

“We were already very sensitive and engaged. The humanity of the care and attention we received at the Cité-de-la-Santé, confirmed our desire to get involved with the Foundation. “- Geneviève Tardif

A necessary Movement

In the face of the historic crisis we are experiencing, our response must be collective and mobilization unprecedented. Indeed, the pandemic is putting enormous pressure on the 32 facilities of the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) in Laval, all of which are served by the Cité de la Santé Foundation. The needs were already numerous, they have been accentuated since last March as much in mental health, among young people from vulnerable backgrounds as well as for the elderly.
We all have a mother to support, a spouse to support, a colleague to comfort, a brother or sister to help or a child to watch. We are all part of this great, deeply human chain. To take care of our world, every gesture counts. Give our healthcare teams the means to intervene and respond to needs quickly. Join the #ProfoundlyHuman movement.
