Date

July 11, 2025

The fourth edition of the Jonathan Huberdeau Golf Tournament, organized by the Cité de la Santé Foundation, brought together 288 golfers who together raised $379,000 to finance the acquisition of medical equipment for prostate surgery.

Presented by Marché 440, Desjardins Entreprises and Fondation Flames Calgary, in collaboration with National Bank, Air Canada Foundation, Ford Terrebonne, Manmade, Marival Resorts and Psycho Bunny, the golf tournament was able to count on the generosity of its sponsors, including Entrepôt frigorifique Deslauriers, Financière Banque Nationale, Fondation Louis Leclerc, JGW, RBC Assurances and RBC Dominion Securities.

This fourth edition of the tournament was a great success, despite the bad weather, raising a record $379,000.

Our commitment: Supporting men's health in Laval

Almost 50% of men aged 50 and over are affected by prostate complications. The funds raised will be used to purchase a Holmium Laser with Moses technology, specially designed for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. This new device will replace current equipment and offer an alternative to open surgery, reducing the risk of complications, speeding up patient recovery and shortening hospital stays.

What's more, it will enable urologists to treat Laval patients locally, without having to refer them to other facilities, thus avoiding the long waiting lists at tertiary hospitals.

Urologist Dr. Steven Lapointe explained the dynamics involved in patient care, and the difference that the acquisition of new equipment will make to the trajectory of patient care.

Last year, the Tournament raised a record $314,000, to which was added a $50,000 annual donation from Jonathan Huberdeau. This increase demonstrates the collective awareness and growing interest of the Laval population in supporting its CISSS de Laval. In view of the challenges we face and the growing needs in health and social services, the support of individuals and companies remains essential if we are to continue offering quality care and services, while constantly innovating for the benefit of the Laval community.

Many personalities from the sporting, cultural and political worlds were involved in the event. In addition to Jonathan Huberdeau, Jean-Charles Lajoie, Mathieu Joseph, Jakob Pelletier and many others were present and supportive.

The Foundation warmly thanks the generous and exceptional contribution of its organizing committee, sponsors, donors and volunteers, and reminds us that it's in everyone's interest to support the CISSS de Laval, because we all win when it comes to health and social services.
