Baby Plant Month - 5th edition

Date

February 27, 2025

Baby Plant Month is back. This project, initiated by horticulturist Mélanie Grégoire and inspired by her personal story, aims to raise funds for neonatal care in Quebec. Half of the funds raised in Quebec are invested in provincial research, and the other half in neonatal units in each region.

The story

The month of baby plants was inspired by the experience of horticulturist Mélanie Grégoire. Her son, Laurent, born prematurely at just thirty weeks' gestation in April 2020, benefited from advances in neonatal research and care. Laurent and his family spent over 2 months in the neonatal care department. Laurent suffered several complications as a result of his premature birth, but thanks to research, he was saved and now lives a life free from the after-effects of his too-rapid birth.

This fundraiser is intended to help future babies grow up healthy.
