Work is progressing well at the breast clinic at Cité-de-la-Santé Hospital.
Plans include adding a mammography room, replacing the existing mammography machine, and acquiring a new state-of-the-art mammography machine.
The status of the work in brief
- Phase 1 is now complete. The new reception area and the Screening Reference and Investigation Center (CRID) are now fully equipped and operational.
- Phase 2 is still going on. Starting in mid-August, they'll start setting up the first mammography room. The work will go on throughout the year.
Providing Laval women with faster, more accurate, and more humane care
This work is part of our action plan to take care of our world. Thanks to the improvements currently underway, the residents of Laval will be able to enjoy:
- Reduced waiting times and faster treatment for breast cancer,
- Smoother transition between mammography, biopsy, and surgery,
- Shorter and more comfortable examinations thanks to new technologies,
- Increased detection capacity, rising from 40% to over 80% for certain cancers.
Thank you all!
